Residential Care

Residential care is long term care and support in Bedford Charter House, our residential care home for the elderly. This type of care is suitable for older people, usually over the age of 65, who feel they can no longer cope in their existing accommodation. Bedford Charter House is a purpose built care home with a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere

Sheltered Housing

Sheltered Housing offers older people a choice of self-contained accommodation in a safe and secure environment. Tenants have the benefit of an emergency alarm call system, and a Scheme Manager.

Respite Care

Respite care is short term care and support in Bedford Charter House, our residential home for older people. The rooms are available for booking for periods of 1 day up to 4 weeks. Day Care is also available on request.

Extra Care Housing

Extra Care Housing offers older people a choice of self-contained accommodation in a safe and secure environment. Tenants have the benefit of an emergency alarm call system, and a Scheme Manager.

Extra-care also offers 24/7 limited care on site with the option to purchase additional care to meet tenants needs. All Tenants contribute to the cost of basic care as part of their service charge.

Personalised Services

BCHA has been providing housing, care and support for older people in Bedford for over 60 years. BCHA supports people staying independent in their own homes by supporting people to employ a Personal Assistant.

General Needs Housing

General Needs Housing is suitable for people who do not require support. BCHA does not have any family sized accommodation. Our properties are mostly one bedroom flats and bedsits and are suitable for single people or couples.
