Extra Care housing provides a home specifically designed for older people with a care service based on site to deliver a personal care package tailored to your needs. Extra Care housing is suitable for older people with care needs who want to remain independent.
BCHA has one Extra Care Scheme called Oak Way House, part of the larger development on Kimbolton Road. Oak Way House was completed in January 2017 and consists of 42 individual Flats.
Flats have one or two bedrooms and are completely self-contained with a fitted kitchen, including an oven and hob. The flats have a wet room designed to make it easier for older people to stay independent. They also have underfloor heating, An emergency alarm system is fitted throughout the building to allow tenants to call for assistance in an emergency. You can use our virtual tour to get a true experience of the flats.
The communal areas have wifi and a number of lounges and dining rooms including an impressive atrium. Laundry facilities, parking and scooter mobility stores are also available. A large full landscaped accessible garden. Separate arts & crafts space. Assisted bathing facilities.
It is a condition of your tenancy that you require care. This can be anything from 5 - 30 hours of care per week. You can buy your care from any provider including BCHA who offer a Home Care Service at Oak Way House.
BCHA provides emergency 24 hour support giving you and your family security and peace of mind should you need assistance., The cost of this service is included in your rent.
