Residential care is long term care and support in Bedford Charter House, our residential care home for the elderly. This type of care is suitable for older people, usually over the age of 65, who feel they can no longer cope in their existing accommodation.
Bedford Charter House is a purpose built care home with a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere
Can accommodate up to 56 permanent residents in mainly single occupancy rooms
Has a few larger rooms which are suitable for couples wishing to share
Is within walking distance to the local town centre, corner shops, post office, Doctor's surgeries and churches.
Moving into care can be a stressful and worrying time for applicants and their relatives. Our staff understand this and encourage visits to Bedford Charter House prior to admission to experience what we can offer. This can include respite care or day care.
“We think that Bedford Charter House is a most amazing and lovely place to be, and the staff are wonderful. We have never seen mum happier” (Relative of current resident at Bedford Charter House)
